Terms of Service

1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the TokenBank: Chores & Rewards mobile application and the gettokenbank.com website (together, the "Service"), operated by Ampersand Works ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. Who can use TokenBank
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or join a family as an adult. TokenBank is designed for parents, guardians, and caregivers; children use the app only through a device configured and supervised by an adult in their family, and children do not have accounts of their own. The Service is currently offered in the United States and Canada.
3. Your account and your family
- You're responsible for your login credentials, your parent PIN, and everything done under your account.
- The adult who creates a family is its owner. The owner controls membership, invitations, purchases, devices, and family-wide settings, and can permanently delete the entire family.
- Invite codes are for people you trust with your family's data. Anyone who joins with a valid invite gains access to your family's decrypted content in the app.
4. Encryption, passwords, and recovery — read this one
Your family's data is end-to-end encrypted with keys we do not have. If you lose both your password and your recovery code, your family's data is permanently unrecoverable — by you, by us, by anyone. Keep your recovery code somewhere safe. You accept this risk as a condition of using the Service; we are not liable for data made inaccessible by lost credentials.
5. Purchases, trials, and subscriptions
- Free trial. New families get a 14-day free trial of the full app. After it ends, continued use requires the one-time TokenBank unlock.
- TokenBank unlock ($9.99). A one-time, non-refundable-except-as-required purchase that permanently unlocks the app for your family at the standard limits.
- Family add-on ($1.99/month or $19.99/year). An optional auto-renewing subscription that raises your family's limits. It requires the TokenBank unlock and renews until cancelled. Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; access continues to the end of the paid period, after which your family returns to standard limits without losing data.
- Billing. All payments are processed by Apple or Google under their terms. Prices are shown in the store and may vary by region; we may change prices for future purchases with notice through the store.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. If a purchase is refunded, revoked, or charged back, the corresponding features are removed from your family.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the Service for anything unlawful; attempt to access other families' data; probe, disrupt, or overload our systems; reverse engineer the app except where the law grants that right; resell the Service; or use it to harm any child. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
7. Your content
Everything your family enters into TokenBank belongs to your family. Because it is encrypted before it reaches us, we could not use it if we wanted to. You grant us only the limited technical right to store, transmit, and sync the encrypted data as needed to operate the Service.
8. Termination
You can stop using TokenBank at any time and can delete your account in Settings (owners delete the whole family; other adults delete only their own access). We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or where required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 4, 7, 9, 10, and 11) survive.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-interruption. TokenBank is a household organization tool — it is not medical, psychological, or professional parenting advice.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ampersand Works will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or fifty US dollars (US$50). Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state of the United States in which Ampersand Works is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree to first contact us at the address below to try to resolve any dispute informally before filing a claim.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes take effect after we update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Using the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
